It’s hot here today. Not unbearable, just uncomfortable. Yesterday I had a crown put on my back tooth and I’m glad it wasn’t hot yesterday because I would have been super cranky. Today I’m just mildly cranky mostly because all I want to do is knit. I’ve started on my Oblique, am over half-way done with the back and there’s no way I am going to pick up the needles right now and lay that 100% wool fabric against my lap. When the sun sets it’ll get cooler so I have to just wait it out. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be the same temp, but Friday cools off by 10 degrees according to the forecast. Let’s hope so.
I’m really enjoying this knit. So far the pattern is really easy to understand so I think it’s a good choice for my first sweater. It’s going to be super cozy for winter. Oh! And I had a stroke of amazing luck that any knitter should be able to appreciate. I bought the yarn (Berroco Peruvia Rav link) for this sweater last year from Bonita Knitting while we were in San Diego. I bought 8 skeins thinking it would be enough. After starting the back of my sweater and then ripping out, deciding to do the next size up I went to the Ravlery page for this pattern and read all the notes posted from other knitters who have also knitted this sweater. The resounding message was: buy more yarn than what the pattern calls for, you will run out before you’re finished. Crap.
So I went to the Peruvia page on Rav and lo and behold, BadAmy had 6 skeins in my colorway, dye lot 432 for sale. Yo nevuh gonna believe this – my dye lot was 433. Now I know, I know, they are still different dye lots, but I was thinking that two dye lots, one right after the other is better than dye lot 433 and dye lot 1208. She sold them to me and they were here a week later and yep! A perfect-enough match. The colorway is heathered looking anyway and I don’t think it’s going to show at all. Thank you BadAmy!!! You saved the day!
I’ll post pictures later of what I’ve knitted thus far.
Tomorrow I go sew in the lining to my mom’s bag and then attach the handles and then I can mail it off! I’m getting the bug to knit a pair of socks too but I want to get this sweater finished before it turns cold so I’m holding off, though I’m pretty sure the next pair will be out of Socks from the Toe Up by Wendy Johnson again. I really liked the first pair I knitted from her book.

I jealous, I really, really want and need to knit. There’s a baby on the way and the blanket is only 3 inches along. But I’m gardening and harvesting and blanching and freezing and canning like a maniac.
Pictures please so I can live vicariously through your knitting:)
Can’t wait to see what you’ve made!
One of these days, I am going to knit myself something big like a sweater. How I wish I could knit faster! I’m working on boy socks right. Now there are four feet instead of two. I’m telling you, I deserve a sweater.
