I don’t know if you heard, but last week was freaking hot. Triple digit weather here for I think, three days. One both sides of those triple digit days were temps in the high 90’s. 96, 97, 99. No AC. People died. No, I’m not kidding, three people died. Thankfully my husband put in a window air conditioner in my craft room and that is where I stayed, morning, noon, and night for 8 days straight. I started to get cabin fever but it was worth it. I lost days, I didn’t get anything done, and I am still trying to get caught up (you should see the laundry). Thankfully it’s been cooler – starting yesterday with highs in the mid-70’s at 5pm.
While in my craft room, I read a lot and I planned some knitting projects. I’m going to knit the Veronik Avery “Oblique” and Tonia Berry’s “A Sweater to Live In”. Rav link and Rav link. For my Oblique I’m knitting with Berroco Peruvia in dark, steel gray. For my Sweater to Live In I’m knitting with Cascade Sierra in Spring Meadow. Spring Meadow is a bit of a leap for me. I normally wear black or gray but I decided that I don’t want to look like the outside all winter long this year. When I’m wearing Oblique, well, I might. But sometimes I’ll wear the green and not. They say that this green is the new neutral and it really is! You can wear it with just about any color.
I’m almost done with those socks and my mom’s bag is knitted and finished, I just need to sew in the lining and then sew on the handles.
The tomatoes are starting to turn from green to yellow to red but my lavender plant is dying. I think the heat did it in. I’m trying to revive it but I think it has gone the way of my sage plant. Crispy.
Other than that not much going on. Like I said, just trying to catch up around here. Hope everyone is staying cool.

Seriously, I cannot believe the weather you guys had. It was hotter there than here! And that’s nuts.
That green is fantastic. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Hmmm…still 104 last night when I went to Fry’s at 8:00pm. But I suppose air does help. At least it’s a crisp 77 in my house
Hope you are doing well. I miss you lady. We must catch up. I am going to need another vacation. I am going to shoot for next year. Hopefully when chuck is 2 I can leave for a weekend again! If only you could convince my hubby to move then we could call you Auntie Tana and Uncle Al. Too fun. Love you.
