I have two pairs of hand knit socks. I’ve knit a couple other pairs, but these I’ve knit for myself (meaning, my big, huge feet with an unusually high arch). I haven’t worn them yet because as much work as I put into them, I didn’t want to ruin them, get a hole in the heel or toe, or stretch them out. Which is stupid, right? Right. So today I put on my Uptown Boot Socks, knit with Colinette Jitterbug in Castagne and yes, they were indeed comfortable. Yay for hand knit socks!!!
Proof:
After walking around all day in them, they did not get any holes or stretch out in a funky way. Whew!

Every time I finish a sweater, I wear it for the first time around the house because I have this paranoia that a seam will let go or I’ll have dropped a stitch and it will unravel. I think that’s equally weird.
What cute little feet you have. Your socks look awesome!
Tana, just another talent you have. Your socks look wonderful, wear them, enjoy them and be proud that you made them.
If you knit socks at a tight enough gauge, I think you have to work pretty hard to get a hole in them. I’m pretty rough on my socks, but I have some in rotation that are at least two years old and still hole free.
Those did turn out really pretty! I need to get back to mine. I have washed and worn my one and only finished pair several times and not had a problem with them.
Awesome! Must be so neat to wear your creation.
The fun part about knitting socks? They wear out, and you get to knit more!
This is what I keep telling my mom. I give her at least one pair of socks every year now. Good for both of us
.
Woo- hoo!
