I spent the day yesterday casting on 996 stitches for this project, with Lorna’s Laces Helen’s Lace in Chocolate. What a nightmare. I used stitch markers, counted and recounted only to have different number of stitches on my needle each time. Rip!
So then today, after ripping the above listed project, I started this project, which I bought from KnitSpot about a month ago. Thinking it would be easier.
I’ve realized that I am not meant to knit with thread-like yarn. I really need to knit with fingering weight at the very least. This is sad because I have two skeins of Malabrigo Lace in black, the Lorna’s in that beautiful brown, and a skein of emerald green Malabrigo Lace that was a gift from a friend. Oh! And a skein of Jade Sapphire Cashmere. Damn.
I casted on for the Autumn Arbor Stole, knit the set up row, then started on row 2, promptly losing a stitch second stitch in. And I couldn’t find it. I can’t imagine getting through a good portion of the stole only to lose stitches and not be able to complete it because I don’t know how to find and fix the lost stitches.
Rip!
I don’t have the patience for it. I don’t seem to have the eyesight for it. Maybe in a couple of years when I get really good at knitting. Maybe? I don’t know. I don’t know how you lace knitters do it. I am in awe.

Hee. You’re adding more to my arsenal of excuses for why I haven’t tried lace yet! Yay!
Hope you guys have a happy, wonderful Thanksgiving! Loves.
How much do you want for the Jade Sapphire Cashmere?
